Similarities and Differences between the Concepts of Quality and the Concept of Excellence in Business Organizations

Abstract

The study aims at identifying the establishment and stages of the development of the quality and excellence for the working organizations on one hand and the similarities and differences of those concepts. Noting the major defects of those concepts theoretically, then the study has achieved some results and recommendations notably; 1-Excellence can  not be considered a stage of the concept of quality but is a comprehensive concept and independent standard in itself, most business organizations can reach an advanced stage of the overall quality, but access to a unique and distinct, difficult to imitate can only get a few of this situation (unique and distinct) ) Is called excellence. 2 - It was clear from the presentation of concepts that the difference is centered on that excellence is the goal that seeks quality with the different ways to access excellence and different mechanisms, therefore, these differences are a fundamental tributary supports the view that (different excellence on quality). One of the most important recommendations of this research is that the concept of excellence should be given wider importance of quality and more comprehensive, where it is possible for business organizations to reach advanced stages of quality, but few can achieve excellence as a post-total quality.
